Head of Sales - Insurance
Job Description
Job purpose
The primary function of the role is to head the division to achieve the plans set. The role is to make sure that the division is headed in the right direction from all aspects of the business. The Head of Sales will report in to the group CEO.
Brief
You will be the first in command and responsible for giving strategic direction to the team and guiding them towards the mission.
Duties and responsibilities
Responsibility
Primary:
Manage the division from a profitability perspective consistently
Improve process, innovate strategy to achieve mission of the organization
Achieve targeted policy count
Introduction of new products and services to the team
Maintain, improve and introduce customer experience
Manage, develop, coach, control and motivate the sales force to develop their skill to ensure that a high professional standard is achieved and monthly sales target and KPI target are met
Assess the strengths and weaknesses of the sales team and manage the sales program accordingly
Continually develop knowledge of the business climate and competition
Prepare reporting as needed
Secondary:
Represent the division as and when required with in the insurance vertical.
Work closely with the other divisions like finance to plan financials budgets, bring revenue optimization.
Developing high quality business strategies and plans ensuring their alignment with short-term and long-term objectives
Qualifications
Education: Master in Management if work experience less than 10 years or Graduation in any stream with minimum 50% academic score if work experience more than 10 years.
As Head of Sales the candidate is expected to have critical competence in four major areas listed below

Apart from the above, the candidate is expected have
Knowledge in finance management if coming from a non-finance background. (Basically knowledge to read financials like cash flow, balance sheet, P&L, revenue %, cost of sales etc.)
Knowledge in Organizational culture and values to help the mid-level managers head the right direction
Experience
Proven experience in similar or senior management roles to turn around projects
Experience in developing strategies aligning the mission of the division
Skills:
Excellent Leadership skills with communication skills in both writing and public speaking
An entrepreneurial mind set with outstanding organizational skills
Analytical and problem solving skill sets
Working conditions
This is a high-stress position based on full responsibility. Handles detailed, complex concepts and problems, balances multiple tasks simultaneously, and makes rapid decisions regarding administrative issues.
Plans and implements programs. Establishes strong and appropriate relationships with divisional CEOs/GMs, group CEO and above all customers. Develops smooth and constructive relationships with colleagues to bring in positive working culture.
Plans and meets deadlines. Maintains a flexible work schedule to meet the demands of executive management. Hours may be long and irregular. Demonstrates commitment to continued professional growth and development.
